Pest Control in Salt Lake City

Ever notice itchy red spots or blisters whenever you wake up? You might have bed bugs in your mattress. Bed bugs are quite possibly the most annoying and most prolific of pests. And since summer is just around the corner for Salt Lake City, it’s time for some bed bug control to get rid of these parasites once and for all.

Beds bugs are difficult to find but luckily, they are not hard to kill. There are plenty of home remedies that will help you get rid of those pesky bugs.

Here are the most effective ones:

Vacuum

A vacuum cleaner can suck the bugs away from your mattresses and leave you bite-free. Make sure that you use a disposable bag in your vacuum cleaner whenever you use it to clean your bed from bugs and their eggs. Seal the bag immediately and remove it from your home to keep the insects from spreading to other parts of the house. If things get complicated, though, it's best to get some help from professionals like Greenside Pest Control

Hot and Cold

Bed bugs are susceptible to extreme changes in temperature. Freezing items you suspect might be infected will kill them off easily. Conversely, a steam bath can also get rid of these pests. If you don’t have a steam bath, a hot wash or even a hot air dryer will also do the trick.

Tea Tree Oil

It’s time to visit your local pharmacy for some tea tree oil. They’re not only good for your health, but they’re also great at repelling insects, bed bugs included. Spray or spread a small amount in corners and say bye-bye to those bugs.

Lavender Oil

Another helpful herb is lavender. Humans love the smell, but insects hate it. To make it even more effective, mix lavender oil with a little bit of peppermint oil to make sure your beds are 100% bug-free. Lavender not only kills the adults, but it also destroys the eggs and larvae, preventing future infestation. Peppermint has natural repellent properties as well.

There are plenty of other ways to make sure your beds are safe from bed bugs. Make sure to keep everything clean and you will soon be sleeping tight. Just don’t let the bed bugs bite.
