Ever since the beginning of time, man has been on a constant pursuit to find the answer to one of life’s greatest questions: What do women want? A few have succeeded where many have failed. Until today, the most experienced matchmaker in Houston or perhaps even the Dalai Lama has yet to come up with an answer. Even Sigmund Freud himself, who asked this question, had no answer to give.
What Do Women Truly Want?
Freud said that there is no easy answer to the question. Some men think of women as complex creatures who want complicated things, but in reality, what they want is simple. We will not attempt to answer what still baffles most experts, but we have listed some essentials that will hopefully make the woman in your life feel loved, treasured, and secured.
Respect.
The man needs to feel respected while the woman needs to feel loved. They say it’s a cycle. Love begets respect, respect begets love. However, men must also treat women with the same respect he wants to get. A woman who is respected and valued as a person will feel loved and is most likely to reciprocate by giving the man the respect he deserves.
Communication.
A lot has been said about the importance of open communication in any relationship. Regular and tactful lines of communication between two people make a thriving and flourishing relationship.
Trustworthiness.
All relationships are founded on trust. Whether it is a marriage, a business partnership, or just plain friendship, trust is an essential factor that deepens and solidifies relationships.
Maturity.
The ability to handle tough situations with composure and clarity of mind. A little childish fun is okay, but it’s important to handle your affairs in a manner fit for grown-ups.
Kindness.
Patience, understanding, compassion, empathy. Whatever type of relationship you have, kindness should be a staple in it. Men need to be considerate of women’s feelings and show they care as much as they can.
Friendship.
Women desire genuine friendships from men. This means treating her in the accepting and patient manner in which you treat your other close friends. No strings attached. Don’t be nice to her because you want to impress her or need something from her.
Support.
Be there to show her you’ve got her back no matter what. Whether it’s in a big way or a small one, being supportive of whatever she does, taking time to listen to what she has to say, and being present in her life keeps her love tank full.
Sensitivity.
You don’t need to be a mind reader to know when she’s not okay. A little sensitivity to her feelings communicates care and concern for her as a person. One important aspect of this is recognizing how your view of other women can affect her and her view of herself. Don’t shun it off as just a “girl thing.” Let her feel that what’s important to her is important to you.
While nobody will ever have the real answers to one of life’s biggest mysteries, these qualities are never beyond any man’s reach. Be the man that will make her happy because, at the end of the day, her happiness is all that matters, right?
